Me and others in my industry call it the “aerators graveyard”.
Main reasons for this unfortunate phenomenon is the lack of reliability of traditional aerators as it is commonly manufactured from poor materials when maintenance usually is followed incorrectly, if it is followed at all.
Over the course of the past 2 years, we have found several major issues with the most common product on the market – the paddlewheel aerator.
It is not safe to operate on most cases
Using an electric powered aerators in a wet environment is tricky to say the least, not only that it pose a real life threatening hazard to operators and fish, but it is also very sensitive to corrosion and wear, requiring massive annual capital expenditures to replace part and aerators just to keep aeration up and running.
It is inefficient by its nature
Electric powered aerators efficiency depends a great deal on the gears used to lower speed of the motor, which is originally intended to work at high speeds, so a lot of the energy is lost in the process making it less energy efficient.
And if all of that isn’t enough then, we found that due to extensive load generated by paddles themselves only allow a very shallow entrance of the paddle in the water. Any deeper than 8-9 cm will cause the motors to end his service very quickly, leaving fish without aeration.
It requires maintenance, which is usually not followed correctly
Paddle wheels needs maintenance, sometimes it’s the bearings, sometimes it’s the oil replacement and sometimes its an electric component, problem start when you don’t read maintenance manual carefully and then late on maintenance. In most cases farmers just “forget” which aerators need what maintenance when, and from there it is just downhill.
On top of it, paddle wheel aerators are bulky, heavy to move around and typically requires more than one person to move around, which pose another barrier in keeping them maintained.

We have developed a unique light weight, durable, highly efficient water powered aerators that move the electric part out of the water. To our state of the art completely made of plastic motor, we have coupled two types of aeration wheels, one is the traditional paddle wheels and the other is our completely new aeration wheel acting as a centrifugal pump with very little drug in comparison to paddle wheel exposing a lot more water into the air and resulting in better deeper and wider aeration.

Our solution operated in pressures less than 3 Bars, that make it ideal to RAS applications, raceways configuration and most of the extensive dirt ponds used today.
We thought about the common farmer, his day at the field and made the product as light as it can be, first of all, since it is made completely out of plastic it is by its nature buoyant, therefore cutting the need in floaters. Second it is about half the weight of electric paddle wheel which means that it can be lifted and moved around by one farmer alone, and third, it’s aeration wheels are round which means that it can be rolled from one place to another.
As to durability, our technology is based on more then 20 years of R&D in the field of durable plastic made water motors, having sold more than 3.5 million units on other applications we have developed a motor that requires very little maintenance and a very simple one.
